On average, nearly twenty people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. In one year, this equates to more than ten million women and men. What can be done to alleviate this situation?

We sit down with Allison Strickland, the chief development officer of InterAct, and Tasha Sullivan, the senior director of domestic violence services of InterAct, to learn more about domestic violence.

We also interviewed Jessica Smith, a volunteer at InterAct and a survivor of domestic violence. She shared with us her story.

Allison and Tasha share with us what barriers keep people from leaving abusive domestic relationships.

InterAct's mission is threefold. Save lives, rebuild lives, and secure safer futures for victims and survivors and their families. Allison and Tasha tell us how people can volunteer with them.

Jessica Smith shares with us what people’s perceptions are of her when they meet her. She also said how beneficial it has been for her to share her story.
